Greetings to all the viewers of this website. Technology was always influencing the human lifestyle. But in the past few decades
the pace and magnitude of advancements has redefined the way people live on earth. The health care sector on its part is responding
to develop solutions to changing needs and emerging expectations of people. Medical technology has growing potentials that
can be harnessed by the service providers to deal with hitherto impossible medical conditions. That has become possible due
to assimilation of diverse technologies with medical science. The churning is required to be done regularly to develop the
solutions to meet rising aspirations & genuine requirements of patients as well as contemporize the professional fraternity
with current information and empower them with latest technical skill.
International Symposium in Audiological Medicine, 2008, is the maiden effort in India to bring together the Audiologists,
Oto-laryngologists and the rehabilitation professionals to deliberate the emerging trends and frontier areas in Audiology.
Institute of Health Sciences has coordinated with Orissa Speech & Hearing Association to host the event in Bhubaneswar,
the emerging knowledge capital of India. This platform, in the future, will promote higher level of professionalism and also
address the contemporary issues in Audiology.
